Coastal Sanitation of NC, LLC is a family-owned, veteran-owned small business serving our North Carolina neighbors.
We launched on January 3, 2024, with a simple purpose: bring thoughtful, personal customer service to trash collection.
Experience:
Carless, co‑owner, ran a small residential sanitation route in his hometown of Laramie, WY for several years to help put himself through college. During the final year of operations in 2019, his then‑girlfriend—now wife—Sage joined in to help keep the business running smoothly.
Coastal Sanitation was born from our shared commitment to bringing back the level of customer service that has been lost over the years. We began planning in December 2021, pouring our time, effort, and experience into building a company that delivers the best service in the industry.

The Owners
We’re Sage and Carless Looney—Wyoming natives who fell in love with mountain air, old country music, and eventually each other. Life took us from small‑town roots to North Carolina when Carless joined the Marine Corps, and it’s here that we built our family and our dreams.
Sage earned her associate degree in radiologic technology but chose to stay home once our babies arrived, pouring her days into cooking, baking, and caring for our little homestead (chickens included). Carless grew up wrestling, earned a scholarship to the University of Wyoming, and later continued his path of service in the Marine Corps. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Purdue University Global.
Family is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re grateful for the chance to build something meaningful together.

Trash & Recycling
Weekly trash pickup. Weekly recycling is included at no extra charge with all service options where available. Two 96-gallon Toter bins—one for trash and one for recycling—are provided in recycling service areas.
Recycling is being phased into additional areas. Please confirm availability for your address.
Setup & Billing
A one-time $30 setup and bin-delivery fee applies when starting service. This fee is separate from the quarterly service price.
Service is billed quarterly. Monthly billing is available upon request.
Additional bin at the same address: $20/month.
