Trash & Recycling FAQs
What does service include?
Standard service is $35/month ($105 per quarter). All service options include weekly trash pickup and weekly recycling at no extra charge where recycling is available. Customers in recycling service areas receive two 96-gallon Toter bins: one for trash and one for recycling.
Is recycling available at my address?
We are phasing recycling into additional areas. Please confirm availability for your address before signing up. Call (910) 382-6089 or contact Coastal. Coastal is taking the initiative to reduce the waste sent to our landfill.
Bin Placement Guidelines
- Standard and One-way Service: Place bins at the curb by 10 p.m. the night before your scheduled pickup.
- Full Service: Leave bins in their usual accessible spot beside your home. Our crew brings them to the curb and returns them after collection.
- Keep lids closed and access to the bins free of hazards and obstacles.
- Keep pets and people clear of the collection area.
- Keep trash and recycling in their separate designated bins. All trash must be bagged; recyclables must be loose, not bagged.
Recycling Guidelines
Recycling is included at no extra charge where available. We are phasing service into additional areas, so please confirm availability for your address. Follow the Sonoco Recycling guide below to help keep contamination out and reduce waste sent to our landfill.
What goes in your recycling bin?
- Plastic: Bottles, tubs, jugs and jars. No pumps. Empty and rinse.
- Metal: Metal cans. Empty and rinse. Aerosol cans are not accepted.
- Glass: Bottles and jars. Empty and rinse.
- Paper: Paper, cartons and cardboard. Flatten cardboard.
Place recyclables loose in the recycling bin. Do not bag your recyclables. Keep trash and recycling separate; household trash must still be bagged.
Keep these out of your recycling bin
